Keene, NH – C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc., its family of companies, and its associates across the country surpassed $2 million in donations for communities during the 2015 United Way campaign. More than 6,000 associates made donations during the workplace campaign held in May at 44 locations in 19 states. Contributions were matched dollar-for-dollar by the company.
“I am inspired by our associates for their support to the United Way and for achieving the $2 million milestone,” noted Rick Cohen, Chairman and CEO of C&S. “It’s my hope that their financial generosity will be leveraged with their involvement in the community as volunteers, donating their time, skills, and energy to make a difference,” he added.
Associates at two C&S food distribution centers will be recognized by the company for their campaigns:
- Bethlehem, PA: Champions and Excellence Award for most dollars pledged and highest participation rate
- Montgomery, AL: Spirit Award for organization and enthusiasm
